Is there any other Brandeis that anyone knows of? other than the person, I mean. Because a line in Angel is "No. The ethno-archeologist from Brandeis?"
And I'd like to think that our University got a mention.
Well, off to SCA choir.

Well, yes, though it's certainly not the one mentioned. Until a couple years ago, I always associated "Brandeis" with the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. The women in my family seem to have a history of graduating there, starting with my Grandmother, and it's where Louis Brandeis's papers are archived and his body is buried.

But again, law school, so unlikely to be related to an ethno-archaeologist.

And a quick Wikipedia/Google search makes it seem as though the only other schools so named are grade schools and high schools and the like, so aye, seems likely they meant our Brandeis.

I'm pretty sure that Wesley was indeed talking about our Brandeis. Unfortunately, no ethno-archeologists actually work here, but then, I can't really fault a show about a vampire with a soul for being factually inaccurate.

It is assuredly a reference to our institution. I think there is a deeper connection somewhere between the show and our own fine graduate theater program.

Other notable references include Lisa Simpson's imaginary friend who got into Brandeis per one episode of the Simpsons.

I love how excited we get when somebody from the outside world mentions our little biosphere.

I think we might have been mentioned on an episode of SVU once. Or maybe I'm thinking about the time they had an episode set in my hometown... But yeah, I squeed when Wesley made that reference too.

* In the 2007 movie Music and Lyrics, Drew Barrymore wears a Brandeis sweatshirt.
* In The Simpsons episode Today I Am a Clown, Lisa tells about her imaginary friend named Rachel Cohen "who just got into Brandeis."

* In the film Hannah and Her Sisters, Dianne Wiest's character ponders:

Where did April come up with that stuff about Adolph Loos and terms like "organic form"?
Well, naturally. She went to Brandeis.

* In the 1977 Woody Allen movie Annie Hall, Allen accuses Carol Kane of being like "New York, Jewish, left-wing, liberal, intellectual, Central Park West, Brandeis University."
* In Angel Wesley gets excited when he thinks he's meeting an archeologist from Brandeis.
* In Gilmore Girls, Paris suggests to Rory that she should go to Brandeis instead of Harvard.
* In the 1998 movie Free Enterprise, one of the minor characters (who is played by writer Mark Altman) wears a Brandeis sweatshirt. Altman also attended Brandeis.

Which episode is the line in?

For what it's worth, Ben Edlund grew in in Massachusetts, and he was involved as a producer in the later years of Angel.

That eliminates Ben, then.

Here's a link to a page with all the cast and production crew for that particular episode:
